RESEARCH

TROPHIC CASCADES
Trophic Cascades
We are collaborating with international and regional partners to investigating the impact of wolves on Ecosystems in the Levant. Wolves are top predators in the Middles East that influence prey both through predation and through a landscape of fear. Unlike their American counterparts, the wolves of the Levant are in a dense human landscape with multiple land-use activities and human community types within the home range of a single pack. The level of wolf persecution by humans also varies greatly in the landscape. In some areas they are tolerated and in others killed by Nature Protection Authorities.
